Does keeping weave in your hair make it grow? Or does it take out your hair?

I'm thinking about getting weave!

Does keeping weave in your hair make it grow? Or does it take out your hair?

Weave will make your hair grow, but as soon as you start wearing your hair again it will break off because (wearing) the weave will make your hair weaker. Especially if you wear weave for months (as most people do)

When people wear braids, the weaver takes a lighter and burn the edges that stick out - sometimes they burn the real hair.

I don't wear weave not but I wore a pony tail in '92 (for 2 months). My hair is still shorter in the top where I had the 'tail attached.

I dont know about how it affects growth, but weaves stink after a while. I would suggest not getting one.

if your going to be getting a glue in weave than no its not healthy because you can damage ur hair trying to take it now such as pulling ur hair...but if your going to get a sew in than yeah your hair can grow because your natural hair is braided and protected from heat damage that you would be doing with the weave...

Keeping weave in your hair does NOT make your hair grow! People often believe it does because when they get a sew-in their natural hair is braided. It is believed that braids make your hair grow, but there is no proof to this! However, getting a sew-in, rather than a glue-in weave, is less stressful on your own hair. You can apply heat to the weave without damaging your own hair. Also you get a break from having to do your own hair! So there is a good side to wearing weave! HOPE THIS INFO HELPS!

It depends what kind you get;

glue ins: the glue stunts your growth if you use it a lot and also rips out enough hair to make you bald.

clip ins: i think you can guess that these usually don't effect your hair growth.

melt ins: it depends how well they are done. Usually, it is ok.

braid ins: it can damage your hair. but it depends on how strong your hair is. If it's weak then youre not gonna be too happy.

It depends wat type of weave ur going to get because if it is a glue in weave it can damage ur hair but if it is a sew in weave ur hair will grow because ur hair is plaited n the weave is sewed in.
