it really depends on a few factors. how experienced is the weaveologist?, how damaged is your hair? how long do you wear your weave before you have it redone? (it should be no longer than 8-10 weeks). do you perm and wear a weave? how well do you take care of your weave? i wear a sew in weave and have been for over a year and my hair has grown. i do not perm or relax my hair while wearing a weave. when i take down i deep condition and let my hair rest for a day or two before rebraiding. also my stylist is very experienced in hair weaving. i have had a friend who let her friend do her weave and it broke her hair off. i also have a friend who wore a weave and her hair broke off because her own hair was unhealthy. try researching at www.blackhairmedia.com. they have a forum.
