Sewn in hair weave???

I'm getting a first time sewn in weave. Wanted ot know should I be concerned that the hair stylist says I might need a perm? It is my understanding that it is better for the hair to be unpermed, that it does not stress the natural hair, etc. It will be a full sew in, charging $125 (does that sound right??). I am African American just to let ya know. Thanks.

Sewn in hair weave???

What? We never did perms before a sew-in. That's really odd. I think she's try to rip you off.

What we did where I was doing my studies was cornrow little rows every few inches and sew it into that braid.

Price wise- I don't know, because since we were just students we charged very little

u need ta go sumwhere else. fa a sew in weave all they gotsta do is braid yo hair in cornrows %26amp; weave in tha weave. perming it first will unnecessarily damage yur hair n plus if u do tha n then braid it its jus gon be all jacked when you take it out. get sumone who can do real tight neat braids cuz if they not good %26amp; you dont perm yur hair yur real hair will look all frizzie underneeth. the only benefit of a perm would be keepin tha hair in their braids. but i really wouldnt suggest it.

Sewn in hair weave???

yeah, i would think u would need a perm cuz if u get STRIAGHT hair weave then ur unpermed hair will stick out like a sore thumb. but if yoor gettin like that big curly hair weave, then you mite b able to hide it. oh yeha plus, it can take you hair out sum %26amp;%26amp; if ur gettin it sown in,....its gonna hurt like crazy.

glue doesnt hurt, but it does take ur hair out.

a perm makes it look much better....u dont want ur hair to appear fake right? so i would suggest a perm first! and 125 is a good price here in cali.....i'm not too sure about where u live cuz some places can be cheaper!

Do not let this hair dresser tell you that your hair must be permed. It does not. It makes not difference to how the weave is sewn on. All the hairdresser has to do to your own hair is plait it and the sew the weave onto the plaits. She will have told you this, 1 because hair dressers love perming natural hair, 2 because it will mean you paying an extra fee on top of the weave and 3, because hairdressers hate plaiting natural hair because its sometimes tough, its easier for 'her' to plait. It has nothing to do with the weave at all. Do not let her make you do this if this is not what you want. Permed hair breaks easier than natural because once you perm it, it then becomes naturally dryer. Permed hair is not a problem if it is maintained correctly. Only do this if you know how. Please go to this website 'www.ubhpublication.com' Once you are on the homepage, click on the subtitle 'cathy's hair tips' which is at the side and then click on the next subtitle 'hairdressers', which is in the middle of the page. Then you will come to questions and stories people have of hairdreesers messing up their hair and giving them bad advice. Click on each question to read the answer You'd be amazed at the stories of bad and ignorant hairdressers. I live in London so im sorry i can't help you on the price, try calling a few salons to get a feel of the average price. As your doing a full sewn in weave none of your hair will show so again i stress no need to perm your hair to make itmatch the weave it will all be plaited underneath.
